10 amazing things you can do with baking soda
by Jen
Here’s a list of things you can do with baking soda, which is cheap, “green” and contains no chemicals that are likely to irritate your body in any way. Many of these come from Bohemian Revolution, since we’ve collected quite a few over time, but some come from other sites, too.
- Deodorize your garbage disposal with baking soda and vinegar.
- Brush your teeth with it – they get wonderfully clean.
- Mix it with cornstarch and talcum powder, sprinkle over stale-smelling carpets, and vacuum for a nice fresh scent.
- Make a baking soda sachet with old pantyhose.
- Clean crayon marks off the walls.
- After a sunburn, take a cool bath and sprinkle baking soda into it.
- Clean your produce
- Add a cup to the washing machine instead of using fabric softener.
- Clean pretty much the whole house.
- Put out small grease fires without damaging anything (takes a lot of soda, so for bigger fires, there are better solutions – see the link)
