Are straight A’s really the magic answer?
This article makes a lot of good sense. It might vary from one discipline to another, but think about it this way:
- Some of your potential employers will not have been scholars. If they could get where they are without straight As, why would they choose to be impressed by yours?
- Some employers believe that if you put the time in to get straight As, you probably didn’t have any life experience – such as learning to get along with others, a skill that’s more valuable than academic ability in many jobs.
- Have you ever been asked your GPA? Do you put it on your resume?
