Brush your teeth with baking soda
UPDATE: some dentists feel it’s unsafe to brush with baking soda all the time, because it can be harsh on enamel. Others say exactly the opposite! Very confusing. Proceed at your own risk. Everyone at least seems to agree that it’s okay to do now and then.
You can get your teeth perfectly clean with baking soda. The mistake some people make when brushing with it is to use too much. They talk about getting so much on the brush that it makes a “thick paste.” You really only need to sprinkle some baking soda over a damp toothbrush and start brushing – it’s that simple.
To be really sure you’re getting your teeth clean, invest in an electric toothbrush. Oral-B makes a couple that are rechargeable (no batteries to throw away) for under $25 (I use this Oral B Crossaction rechargeable model so I never have to buy batteries). But even a $4 electric toothbrush will do. It’s the movement of the bristles that really gets your teeth clean, not the toothpaste itself. By getting an electric brush, you ensure that even if you don’t always take the time you should to brush, you’ll still be getting plenty of scrubbing action.
Baking soda will leave your teeth feeling wonderfully clean and smooth. Remember: don’t brush your teeth too hard.
