Cats Off the Kitchen Counters

Here’s a way to make cats actually want to stay off the kitchen counter: whenever you need to do something for the cat that it finds unpleasant, like giving medication or pedicures, put the cat on the kitchen counter. And never do anything the cat likes – such as giving it a treat – on the kitchen counter.

The cat will learn to associate kitchen counters with unpleasant things happening and avoid them.

This simple tip came from reader Bonnie, who says it’s worked for her cats for 20+ years!
