Cleaning outdoor furniture - simplest method
by Jen (May 30, 2007)
For a basic scrub down on the patio furniture, this is the simplest thing you can do, but it’s effective.
Mix up a gallon of water and dishwashing liquid. Grease cutting, preferably. Get the water fairly soapy, but you really don’t need a lot of soap. Dip a sponge in it and start cleaning. Dish liquid that cuts through food can cut through most of what’s going to land on your lawn furniture. If it’s just plastic furniture, you probably don’t need to rinse it off. If it’s wood, rinsing is a good idea. If it’s glass, you’ll want to dry it do it doesn’t streak (or not - I mean, it’s just going to get rained on again).
If you can hose the furniture down, it’s even easier. Take a wet sponge and put some dishwashing liquid directly on it. Scrub the furniture with it - you don’t have to work too hard on this, because the hose is going to power wash it. You just want to loosen the dirt. Then you hose it all off, and you’re done.
