Cleaning tile floors in bathrooms

The slate tile floor in my bathroom is neither smooth nor glazed. The unevenness of the stone has been left in its natural state. It’s pretty, but it’s not that easy to clean. It collects grit in all the tiny crevices in the stone’s finish, and you discover this when you walk barefoot on it and pick up the grit on your skin.

I’ve tried several ways of cleaning it, and the best far and away is to spray a solution of equal parts vinegar (distilled white) and water and clean it. The vinegar seems to help the sponge/cloth/mop pick up the grit better. The more I use it, the easier the floor gets to clean.

There is actually very little in the bathroom that I can’t use the vinegar/water solution on. Chrome, glass, countertop, toilet, the tub/shower stall, etc. Even the shower curtain. And the window.
