Crafter’s Roundup
It’s time for another roundup of awesome craft tutorials and pattern links.
- Carina shows you how to crochet a Granny Square. This is a great basic skill to have in your repertoire, because Granny Squares are so versatile. Once you learn the technique, you can whip one out to use as a doily, pot holder or coaster in no time, or you can meld a bunch of them into a blanket or throw. (Of course, if that’s too much trouble, there’s always the no-sew blanket.)
- Mairuru shows you how to make a patchwork button pouch. This is a very simple craft to make, and you can do so many things with it – make a little emergency dewing kit, keep coupons in it, put stuff in it to make party favors, etc. [via TipNut]
- TipNut’s got a free embroidery pattern for kitchen towels – the design is pears and dishes. If you’ve had trouble with embroidery patterns before, she also offers some tips for successful transfers. And some links to other similar patterns.
- Cara from Repurposeful recently featured DollarStoreCrafts, a site that shows you how to make all sorts of really cool things out of stuff you can find at a dollar store – which is also often stuff you can find around your home when you’re decluttering!
- ZakkaLife’s got a craft roundup of her own, full of free patterns and tutorials.
