Defeating puffy eyes with coffee
by Jen (August 21, 2008)
My eyes suddenly became puffy the other day - I think it may be allergies. Generally speaking, the best thing to do for puffy eyes is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. This means using eye creams or gels (I find gels sink in better for some reason), but it also means drinking plenty of water so you hydrate internally.
Allergies are a little tougher, but there are a number of home remedies you can use that will help. TipNut lists the best home remedies for puffy eyes, but I wanted to add one more that works:
A coffee mask.
Mix used coffee grinds - preferably fine - with milk and/or honey until you get a thick paste. Dab it around your eyes and rest for a few minutes with your head on a pillow. The caffeine draws out the puffiness (it has anti-inflammatory properties) while the milk and/or honey moisturize.
