DIY paper lanterns

Design Sponge has the tutorial you need to create beautiful paper lanterns just like the ones pictured here. It’s really simple to do, too. You just dress up a drinking glass in paper, put a lit votive in, and that’s it.

These would be perfect for an outdoor party - on the deck, around the poolside, or in the yard. They could also be a lot of fun indoors whenever you want low lighting. They’d also be a fairly cheap way to light or dress up an indoor party or school dance.

Be careful and don’t leave these unattended, since they involve lit candles.
