Spotlight Post: Molly’s Sketchbook: A Trip Around the Wool
This tutorial shows you from start to finish how to sew this beautiful wool quilt so that even non-quilters can do it. It’s a big job, but Molly breaks it down into simple straightforward steps with lots of pictures so you can be sure you’re going about it the right way. Note that some of the color squares are out of place: she did this on purpose, to give it a unique and homey feel.
For more sewing projects:
- Add Jacquard trim to the legs of jeans. Extend the life of the jeans your daughter’s outgrowing or make your own jeans unique and interesting.
- Make a new cover for an old lamp. A really simple way to revive an old lampshade instead of buying a new one. The potential’s so fun, you might want to recover lamps that don’t even need it yet.
- Knitting a flat top hat. Takes you to a tutorial that shows you how to make a really cute knit hat that’s perfectly flat on top.
- Zigzag lace scarf - free pattern! Cute, inexpensive and easy.
