Embroidered whale buttons tutorial

Oh, Fransson! has a tutorial for making these adorable little whale buttons.

These are the buttons I made for Michelle’s Embroidered Button Swap. I had never made embroidered buttons before and it was considerably more challenging than I’d expected. As you can see, they’re not particularly uniform!

They may be challenging, but they’re gorgeous. You could come up with a lot of wonderful variations on this: trees, flowers, other animal shapes, letters of the alphabet, etc. Very cute!
