Fixing discolored aluminum

Here’s a quickie for aluminum pots, pans and bowls that have become stained: heat one tablespoon of vinegar to a quart of water in the aluminum vessel until the discoloration disappears. Instead of vinegar, you can also use 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar.
