Freecycle: trade used stuff
by Jen
I recently mentioned Freepeats, which lets you trade used baby toys and products so you can save money and all that stuff doesn’t go to the landfill until it’s truly done for. Freecycle is like that, except it’s for products of any kind. This is really important for the environment, but it’s also excellent for our pocketbooks.
If you’re used to thinking of “used” as icky, just remember: because we’re such a non-frugal society, people buy stuff, hardly touch it, and throw it away, so “used” doesn’t mean what it did 30 years ago. It very often means “totally and completely like new, except for the packaging”.
There are sites for trading books, DVDs, CDs and games.
