Frozen dinner false advertising

If you live near a Claim Jumper restaurant, you may be familiar with their notoriously huge portions of food that can easily keep you going for several days if you’re the type to take home leftovers.

Unfortunately, their TV dinners lean toward the other extreme:

I don’t have a problem with puny TV dinners. I often buy them on purpose so I can have a light dinner or lunch without cooking or ordering out. I also accept that the picture on the box is always going to be prettier than the actual dinner.

But I do think if your box shows two nice big patties of meat with mushroom gravy, I’m not overreacting to be disappointed when I find one weenie little meat pattie with no gravy.

Even then, I might have forgiven them if it had tasted good. It tasted like cardboard.

Another reviewer had more mixed feelings about Claim Jumper’s dinners. Sounds like that person tried different ones than I did, found the portions large, and also found that microwaving them just doesn’t result in the same flavor as cooking. Your mileage may vary.

I just think the picture should at least resemble the amount of food you’re going to get, and if microwaving it isn’t really an option, say so on the box. No one’s expecting a gourmet restaurant experience from frozen dinners, are they?
