Great way to listen to LastFM

by Jen (August 10, 2007)

I’ve mentioned before how much I enjoy LastFM, where you type in the name of a band you like, and they put together an internet radio station customized to your tastes. I had been using their downloadable client for it, but it’s become really buggy lately - it freezes and I have to use the Windows task manager to get it to stop. Even that doesn’t work, and I have to go into processes and… well, it gets very techy and totally not worth it.

I looked today for an alternative client someone else had built. There are quite a few, and most of them involve “Python environments” and other techy stuff I have no idea about. Then I found MyLastFm. All you have to do is install a Microsoft .net framework, then unzip the MyLastFM package, and double-click the .exe file within. It’s pretty simple, and it seems to work much better than the LastFM client.
