How to add a little something to a letter you’ve already printed
If you’ve got a boss who likes to approve a final draft of a letter, then still go back and make changes after you’ve printed it on letterhead, it can be more than a little frustrating. Not only is it more work for you, it’s a waste of paper.
Sometimes there’s a way around wasting the paper. If the changes only include adding items where there was blank paper before, here’s what you do:
- Type in the new items.
- Change all the old, already printed words to a white font.
- Print again – this time it will only add the black font words.
This works great for adding postscripts, CCs or titles that need to be squeezed below signature lines. Since you can’t guarantee it lining up exactly the same every time, it’s not so great for adding another sentence to the end of a paragraph (then again, it can’t hurt to try).
