How to recycle old cell phones

Old cell phones and their parts should not be thrown away because they can leech crap into the ground. (Don’t you love how scientific I am?) I’ve occasionally seen a “recycle your cell phone” booth set up somewhere and thought “how neat”, but it never just so happens that I’m lugging the offending old cell phone around with me. Who would?
The EPA has a website with a list of retailers who recycle old phones. Odds are you can find one of these guys in your area.
