How to shred your hard drive files

I’ve never worried too much about all the personal information (passwords, bank account numbers) I keep on my computer. Nor the potentially embarrassing (poems) bits of data.

But when you delete your browser cache and all that stuff in an attempt to keep identity thieving hackers from getting your info, it’s not really gone. And some people know how to get at it.

Fortunately there are free software applications that will totally and viciously destroy those files you don’t want other people seeing.
