Improving sleep by listening to your body

If you’re having trouble getting enough sleep to keep alert or if sleep is cutting into the hours you need to keep up your busy pace, DumbLittleMan has some sleep suggestions that have worked for him and might work for you.

My life was not always this way, I used to be the guy that stayed up late and woke up with barely enough time to shower before work. So, how did I change that? It’s actually pretty simple, I installed a regimen that I have now followed for years. On average, I believe that I have given myself an extra 5 hours per week or (do the math) an extra 10.8 days per year to get stuff done.

He outlines three rules which boil down to: don’t go to bed unless you’re tired, get up the same time every morning, 7 days a week, and catch 20 minute power naps at noon when you can. This exact system may not work for you - I doubt any system works for everyone - but it should give you ideas outside the “8 hours/night” box.
