Join a weight loss community
by Jen (March 29, 2007)
If you need some support to reach your weight loss goals and you’re not finding it offline, why not join an online community full of people going through the same things you’re going through? Gimme20 is one such community where you can talk with others, find workouts to learn and get tips and advice.
One note of caution: some people don’t really get the notion of support. If someone crosses the “constructive criticism” line and just gives you grief, remember: this person is full of self-loathing, but can’t admit this to himself, and so he projects it onto others. He should be ignored by every living person until he grows up.
This sort of thing does unfortunately happen in some communities. Look for the ones where the moderators seem to do a good job of keeping the tone positive.

Great post. It is tough to keep a positive vibe over at gimme20.com — but we are going to do our best to do it.
Thanks for the link.
