Junk mail placemats

by Jen (October 4, 2006)

You know those little fake credit cards you get with junk mail credit card offers? They make handy bookmarks.

Or you can tape them together to make a cute placemat if you have enough of them. Just lay them face-down on a table, using a straight edge to line them up - preferably something heavy enough that you can’t knock it around, like a box of something. Line up 5 cards across (lengthwise) and down. Use a strong sealing or masking tape to tape the rows and columns together.

When you’re done, turn it over and you’ve got a cute, unique placemat. Of course, it could take a while to accumulate enough credit cards to make more than one mat. Anything reasonbly thick and stiff will do the trick: postcards, business cards, other types of mail inserts.
