Keep keys on things you don’t want to forget

This is a really simple tip: when you’re afraid you’re going to forget to take something with you when you leave, put your keys on top of it.

  • When you have leftover lunch from the office that you want to take home for dinner, put your keys on top of it right in the fridge.
  • If you visit a friend and she gives you something to borrow or keep, put your keys on it to avoid forgetting to take it when you go.
  • This is a great tip for motels, especially if traveling disorients you a little. Lay your keys on your sunscreen, a copy of a presentation for a meeting, a bottle of water - anything you’re afraid you’ll forget all about as you walk out. Be careful not to leave the room with your keys in plain site of anyone who comes in while you’re out.

The only downside to this little trick is when you forget that you put your keys somewhere and go crazy thinking you’ve lost them!
