Looking to Start Working on a Family Tree?

Researching your family history is fun, rewarding, interesting and a lot of work. I have an aunt that has been turned family and local historical research into her life’s passion, but, not being the most computer savvy person, continues to store and sort all of her material in boxes and boxes in the basement. If you’d rather not lose all that space, there are some software programs that will help with storage, organization and presentation.
For Mac, MacApper recommends a software program called MacFamily Tree that allows you to start storing information as well as photos, documents, sound files and video files connected to a person. If you’re using Windows, FamilyTree Maker 2008 will do the same, and also includes elements that support the research itself, such as interactive mapping. From the reviews, the version for Mac is very easy and perfectly suited to someone with a casual interest in getting some of these things done.
