Make notepads out of junk mail
by Jen
I like to avoid junk mail so much I maintain a resource post about how to opt out of junk mail and add new stuff to it whenever I find a new solution. But no matter what I do, an occasional piece reaches me and I can’t always get the post office to return it to the sender. What to do, what to do? Well, obviously, shredding and recycling is one solution. I also try to use it as scrap paper first, so I’m both reusing and recycling.
Cara at Repurposeful has another idea. You can make a really cool little notepad out of your junk mail, too. Do avoid using any pieces that have your name and/or address on them, unless you’ll be sure to shred them later. These would make awesome little party favors or handouts at the office, especially if you’re trying to raise environmental awareness by showing people how fun, money saving and clever “green” can be.
