Make your own chai latte
Chai latte is a tea-based drink diluted with milk. It’s spicy and sweet and delicious… and very expensive and high in sugar and calories if you buy it at Starbucks or most other chains. You can make it yourself, which is not only cheaper, but gives you more control over the nutritional content.
2BaSnob has a made-from-scratch chai latte recipe which involves ingredients like cardamon pods and cinnamon sticks -excellent recipe, but you may want something simpler. Thrifty Fun shows you how to use ready-made chai latte products to concoct your own latte. Be sure to check the comments thread at Thrifty Fun – there are some other delicious sounding recipes for chai latte in there!
Of course, you can always just buy chai tea bags, brew them, and add milk, plus whatever sweetener you like (if needed). Honey is great, but so is Splenda if you’re watching sugar.
You can add flavors like vanilla or peach – basically, anything mellow that goes well with cinnamon.
