Make your own snowglobe

Silly me, I always thought making a snowglobe had to involve glass blowing so you could put the “scene” in before the globe was closed, or whatever it is they do.

Martha Stewart has a way to make your own snowglobe:

Sand the inside of the lid until the surface is rough. With clear-drying epoxy, adhere the figurine to the inside of the lid, and let the epoxy dry. Fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water; add a pinch of glitter and a dash of glycerin (available at drugstores) to keep the glitter from falling too quickly.

There are a few more instructions – click over to read the rest.

How perfect would these be as gifts? It requires some creativity – and the ones featured here are specifically for winter time – but there are so many ways you could go with this. It can be a glitter globe instead of a snow globe. You could make a gorgeous keepsake to mark Mother’s Day, a baby’s birth, an anniversary or graduation.
