My double shower curtain and towel rod
While shopping for things for my new apartment, I found the coolest gizmo: a double shower curtain rod. I could hang the shower curtain on one rod and use the other to hang up towels or laundry I didn’t want to bake in the dryer, and because they were on separate rods I wouldn’t have to take the towels and laundry off when I wanted to shower or move the curtain back and forth. It seemed so awesome I forked over the $40 without a second thought.
Then I got home and tried to install it. It was one of the most difficult pieces of hardware I’ve ever dealt with. I extended one of the rods a bit too far, and there was no way to get it back in (the directions had a solution, but I couldn’t get it to work). As I wrestled with it, a worrying question started to form in my mind: if I did finally get it installed, how would I get it back down when the time came?
That’s when it hit me: all I needed were two $10-12 tension rods:

Bingo! I just installed them like normal, putting one a couple of inches in front of the other. I had enough money left over from the $40 to buy that gorgeous curtain and the hooks to hold it.

THANK YOU! I’ve been browsing these rods, and had wondered what they could possibly be like to install. For some reason, I had decided that 2 separate rods would look messy — even though the look of the dual rod is just the same! Thanks for saving me the trouble of finding out for myself!
Oh, you’re welcome! I’m so glad it helped you out.
