Quick Ergonomic Tip: Doing Dishes
by Sarah
An occupational therapist friend of mine just gave me this tip for people with back problems: When doing dishes, assuming you have a cupboard underneath the sink, open the door and put one foot up inside it. This will help you with weight-shifting, align your spine better and prevent you from slouching too much into the sink. It also helps to support and strengthen your “core”, so it’s useful for people who are recovering from surgery to the torso or abdomen.
