Quinoa recipes

quinoa.jpgQuinoa is a South American plant whose seeds have a delicious nutty flavor. It’s rich in protein and makes a great rice or wheat substitute (safe for people allergic to wheat). It’s wonderful sauteed as a side dish, but it’s so versatile that some people make cakes and other desserts out of it.

Here are some of the recipes I’ve found online:

  1. Quinoa with Latin flavors: chilis, garlic, cilantro, lime, just for starters.
  2. Curried Quinoa: fresh ginger, tumeric, coriander, cinnamon…
  3. Black bean and tomato quinoa: with lime and cilantro for a Mexican flavor
  4. Quinoa Dessert Pudding: raisins, rum, cinnamon, nutmeg… think bread pudding all grown up.
  5. Quinoa fritters: cotija cheese, scallions, parsley, salsa. (Uses wheat flour)
