Re-using backs of paper

1189721_noteIn most offices, people use a sheet of paper one time, then toss is in the recycling bin and pat themselves on the back for being environmentally sound.

Are you kidding me? What about the other side of the paper? You can save money and be more environmentally sound, all in one little act of re-using.

  • Reverse the paper and stick it in the printer when printing stuff that’s not for permanent files. I.E. phone messages, emails, online driving directions.
  • Fold sheets into quarters and you have temporary coasters at your desk.
  • If your office isn’t hung up about document privacy, take paper home and use it there.
  • Cut the paper into quarters and make stacks of “memo” paper for quick notes. This’ll save on sticky pads, too, which are pricier even than plain memo pads, but often get used the same way.
