Shopping for bargain household products

by Jen

logo1I love finding household products – furniture, small appliances, organizing contraptions and so on – that don’t cost a lot and make a big improvement in my home and life. Because I live in a big, wealthy city where shops can charge highway robbery prices and plenty of locals will pay them (nothing ever seems to get marked down – it all flies off the shelves at regular prices!), the only way I can find cool household bargains is online.

I decided to turn my passion into a new website. (No, I promise, it won’t distract me from updating Bohemian Revolution.) Welcome to Fill Your Shack, a cross between a product review site and a tip site: it highlights inexpensive, practical, attractive furniture and household items and gives you ideas of what you can do with them. Find out how to declutter your home with an affordable sofa table or hall chest, check out a cheap gadget that lets you hang more clothes in your closet, get a chandelier for under $100, or add considerable storage to your bathroom for just over $100.

You don’t have to be shopping to enjoy the site. It’ll also give you ideas for using and repurposing the stuff you already have, too – or stuff you find at garage sales or flea markets. Even with a very tight budget, there are ways to make your home and your life more comfortable and enjoyable with a little creativity. That’s what Bohemian Revolution has always been about, and that’s the mission purpose of Fill Your Shack, too. I hope you enjoy it, and don’t forget to sign up for daily updates!
