Sortable laundry bins instead of one per person
An easy way to cut down on how much time it takes to launder clothes is get rid of per-person hampers and set up sortable laundry bins in the laundry room, which separate dark clothes, white clothes and bright clothes. Or you can let family members have their own hampers, but bring them to the laundry room and do their own sorting there.
The idea is to let everyone spend a couple of minutes doing your sorting for you instead of you spending all the time it takes to do it yourself. Overall, it’s a better use of everyone’s time.
If you live in an apartment and take your clothes to another location to wash them, you can still set bins up somewhere in your home. Just get three bags to tote the clothes in (or hampers that have removable bags, like the one pictured above).
