Sportline Mini Stepper

by Robyn (April 25, 2008)

My favorite way to get some light exercise in has always been a nice, long evening walk, but I’m living in an apartment right now that’s in an area with neither sidewalks nor streetlights.I tried the evening walk thing soon after moving, and came away with scrapes on my arms and shins and sand in my shoes – I soon gave up on that!

I’ve been casting a longing eye over treadmills and stepping machines ever since, but they all seemed to be well out of my price range. Then I discovered the Sportline Mini Stepper. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The Mini Stepper gives me a great, self-paced workout, is small and light enough to be easy to tuck away when I’m not using it, and at about $60, it was well worth the investment in my health.

The Mini Stepper can be a little bit noisy – pressing down on the paddles can result in a dull click sometimes, which can get pretty percussive if you’re stepping quickly – but I’ve found that it’s easy to listen to the radio, watch a show or have a telephone conversation while I’m using it. And since the Stepper keeps track of how long I’ve been stepping (and even gives an approximation of how many calories I’ve burned), I’m free to allow myself to be distracted by these other activities while I’m exercising instead of keeping an eye on my watch or my pedometer.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to get some exercise indoors, you should definitely consider the Sportline Mini Stepper.
