Temporary bookmarking in any browser
by Jen
I’m always finding things online that I want to read later, but I don’t want to bookmark them all and end up with a 3,000+ bookmark list that goes all the way down off my screen.
ToRead is a little bookmarklet applet. You give them your email address, confirm it, then put the bookmarklet in the bookmarks toolbar of whatever browser you’re using. Go to a site you want to read later. Click the button. It will put a frame at the top of the page to let you know it’s been emailed to you. I’ve tested it and it works well. Whether or not your email privacy will be respected, I can’t say, as the privacy policy is in a language my computer doesn’t read. So you might want to test this with a disposable email address first before giving up one you’d hate to have spammed. But that’s good practice even when you can read the privacy policy because, you know, spam happens.
