TipNut’s 50 Kitchen Tips

by Jen (July 16, 2008)

TipNut has posted a crazy long list of fabulous kitchen tips. The tips are mostly about cooking, but beyond that they’re somewhat random. There are tips for:

  • Adding a few ingredients to a cake mix to make the cake bigger than the mix calls for.
  • Methods for softening butter.
  • How to get dough off your hands quickly if your baking is interrupted by a visitor or phone call
  • A tip for making grilled cheese sandwiches tastier with mayonnaise. (I can vouch for this one, this is how I always make them. In fact, I recommend canola mayonnaise and not just for the health benefits - it has terrific flavor. I use Spectra brand.)
  • How to store natural peanut butter so it’s not so hard to stir up when you open a new jar. I can’t wait to try this one out! I love natural peanut butter (again, I really prefer the flavor, which is full force roasted nutty and sweet enough without added sugar)

And there are 45 more tips like this over there! This is the sort of list that makes me want to print off each item on index cards and file them in a recipe box.
