Track sites you want to read once without bookmarking
by Jen
When you’re surfing and come across a page you want to save for later, what do you do? Bookmarking it in your browser creates a crazy long list of bookmarks, and removing them is not that simple. Some people like Delicious for bookmarking these posts, but others don’t want their lists public or don’t like the Delicious interface that well. (Or get annoyed with the fact Delicious won’t let you save your log in info in Firefox, so you have to remember and type your login every time.)
Instapaper has a great solution. Sign up with your email address, then drag the “Read Later” button into your browser toolbar. When you see a site you want to read later, just click the “Read Later” button in your toolbar, and a small popup appears (and quickly disappears) telling you the item’s been saved. Now when you have time to read, you just log into Instapaper and start reading. You can delete or edit the items as you go through them. Or you can always bookmark them if you decide to come back regularly.

I use Del.cio.us to bookmark sites and I also use Firefox. My login information is stored, so I’m not sure why it doesn’t work for you. Also, you can mark your entries as private.
I also use Evernote (free, which resides on my computer) to capture websites and parts of websites. Items can be tagged with keywords, pictures and graphics are saved with the pages.

That’s weird – I’ve had several Delicious accounts on several computers, and it never let me save my login. Huh.
Evernote looks wonderful. It’s only free for a trial version, though, isn’t it?
