Water retention tip
by Jen (July 16, 2007)
Water retention isn’t just a problem for women. A salty meal, a hard workout, and a change in weather can also make you feel like a bloated slug no matter who you are. Here’s a tip that’s both safer than water retention pills and very effective:
- Take Vitamin B-12 lozenge. Usually it’s in the form of a little dot you stick under your tongue - liquid works fine, too. This is a pretty harmless vitamin because your body will get rid of what it doesn’t use instead of storing it (toxically) in the liver.
- Take another lozenge every hour or so (depending on the dosage - I’d say no more than an average of 500 mcgs per hour) until you pee.
- After you pee, take another one and you should go again in a couple of hours.
- Take another lozenge every time you pee for maybe the rest of the day, at most. Maybe less.
I’m saying this is safer not safe. There is nothing on this earth that’s 100% safe in all quantities for all people at all times. You can hurt yourself badly by drinking too much water, even. But this trick seems to work like a little flush for your system, and I think as long as you don’t do it regularly (for heaven’s sake, please don’t think of it as a shortcut to weight loss - that’s exactly the thinking that makes people do very ill-advised things with vitamins and herbs) it’s probably safe enough.
